Avast was finding this on my system as well. However, I just disabled the Standard Shield before starting Maple if it reported a problem. After a couple of days, the definitions updated and removed the false positive.
It has happened before, and it's annoying, but Avast always gets their stuff sorted out in a day or two.
I certainly didn't have any "empower" thing; it said mine was a rootkit-gen, which made me laugh because (as someone else stated) GameGuard basically is a rootkit. It does everything except allow a GM to remotely control your system.
