Of my library, only 4% are songs that I actually understand the lyrics to. Music is universal and not restricted to having to understand the lyrics to understand the song. Yes, lyrics sings the message of the song but so does the melody. You can tell the difference in mood between a slow song and a fast song. Vocals in a song is just another chord, like the drums, like the piano, like the violin and as long as you hear the mixture of tempo, beats and notes, you get the mood of the song. So obviously, you won't hear the tale the lyrics are telling but listening to foreign songs isn't too different from listening to instrumentals songs - you're listening for the notes.

Oh hey, probably one of my favorite Septette for the Dead Princess remixes. :VVVVV There's a lot of music out there aren't really Kawaii Desu. `-` Most of stuff I listen to nowadays bounces back and forth between Pop&Metal.
