Even if it isn't meant to last you still have fun while you can and enjoy the time spent with that person. If you're lucky you can remain friends, and depending on your views you could be even luckier/unlucky and stay as FwB.

Well it certainly isn't the reputation system, or it'd be green or grey, and instead of unicode symbols, they'd be rounded rectangles. Though if it serves for a tally of some sort the mystery is intriguing.
