No the point is that its stupid for Samus to have her upgrades from the start and the only crutch stopping her from using it is Adam saying it is alright. It makes Samus look completely stupid and somewhat lame. What person would not equip a suit that stops you from hurting when faced with extreme conditions when you enter a lava filled area? An idiot.
It would have been better if Samus had never had the Varia Suit or any upgrade for that matter.
