1.) This is the first single off a 20 track album. You can think it sucks, but 1/20th of an album can suck and it can still be the album of the decade. Wait till May 23rd. Though I agree hyping it as such so early is exceedingly overzealous, especially underscored by the fact that it's 2011. I mean, if she had made that claim at the beginning of 2019 perhaps it would have been more legit, but yeah.

2.) Is it similar to Express Yourself? Definitely? A carbon copy at any part? Not at all. If people compare it to Madonna's track they might as well cite self-plagarism as well, as Gaga has a lot of monotone chanting sections in Born This Way reminiscent of Dance in the Dark, which you could, of course, say is plagarism again off Madonna's Vogue. There's a fine line between "inspired by" and "plagarized," and I definitely agree Gaga comes closer to it than most, but I personally don't believe she crossed it with this track. Enough of it is very different.

3.) You're upset by the usage of "chola," yet "nigga" is used extensively in rap/hip-hop and no one gives a damn. Just saying.

I actually like the song, especially after listening to it on repeat a few times. It's just kinda disappointing in my opinion, at least in comparison to her last singles. Bad Romance was EPIC and refreshing. This sounds a little dated. It's also a little too gay for my tastes. As a straight fan of hers, I know I won't be blasting this in my car. Rolleyes I realize that there are 19 other tracks to listen to, but lead singles tend to be the best song off the album. Do I think it will be a good album? Yes. Album of the Decade? lolno.

The only reason I pointed out the Madonna similarity was because GaGa fans love to think that everything she does is original. It's annoying. These days, when a female artist does something outlandish, they're "copying" GaGa, yet when GaGa blatantly copies from her predecessors, she is "paying homage".

3. That's not the same thing. Having a white woman, born into privileged and wealthy family, use such a degrading term is offensive. She is grouping all Hispanic females as Cholas in a song that is supposed to be about loving yourself and equality. Same with the term "Orient" to refer to Asians and grouping middle easterns as "Lebanese". Tupac said in a documentary the excessive use of the n-word was because the term, at least to Rappers, now means buddy, or friend, while the term used by anyone else can be taken for that or as an insult. Early hip-hop artists were simply changing something bad to something good for themselves. Also notice how no mainstream white rapper (well, these days that's only Eminem) has ever used the n-word.
