I was away from this debate since it was from the start stated that they didn't want people come and white knight their drug use.
However I have to agree completely with Vu (Kalovale), addicts have a really hard time admitting they are addicted. Until you try and stop smoking for a while you won't see how addicted you are to something and you'll normally think you are in control.
Take MapleStory, I played it a lot and didn't consider myself an addict. Only after reducing (and finally eliminating) both because of life and of nexon's randomness I can see that I really was addicted to playing maple.
Normally it takes some external force to get rid of an addiction, my friend's mom only got to stop smoking because he started a firm policy of not talking to her at all while she still smoked (and he really held on to it).
I'm not here to discuss the effects of weed on human health but I may come back if I can access my powerful article database from my university by proxy here (yes it's powerful) to back up my claims.
