Anyways, I told him to go play more practice games, stick with a specific class of champions, look up guides, and see gameplay videos before I teach him advanced specific/general protips.
My guess was that he figured playing with you he could afford to try out something a bit different. I know when I play with friends, I sometimes pick something different from what I usually play in a game because it's my friends. They're not going to hate me if I do terribly or screw up with it . . . though they may get irate.
Anyway, yes, I would agree with talking to him about it. You can't help a lot of people online because they don't want, or won't, let you help them. It's just one of those things were you can only do so much though. The best way to learn how to play most games is by experience after all, and the only way your friend will gain that experience is by playing lots and lots.
