Only attempted to chaos 2 pairs, the first of which was a massive failure and the second of which were those (rucky day). I found I was better off not bothering using Black Crystals in the making process because my luck was terrible with them (had 7 out of a batch of 10 end up with 0 Matk), instead in the end finding it more beneficial to pote scroll mass 1 Matk shoes until I managed to get a nice load of 3-liners to chaos.
Spent maybe 700-800m over time trying to make some tradeable 3-line chaos'd Matk shoes (the Inter LUKs and BCs earlier on were a massive chunk, along with the tons of pote scrolls I used). Am sure you could make some for less if you cut costs where you can/get lucky dependant on prices in your server.
