Friend tried to make me feel guilty earlier by twisting the situation around. I honestly told her that I have indeed lost items, and money before. I don't get mad at whoever else that took those items though, because it was my own negligence that led to me losing money / items. It's dumb to blame another person if it's your fault, as an example.
Of course, my friend couldn't think of anything to say, because my sense of 'right and wrong' is different from her's. I realize that there could be a bunch of situations in which a person can lose something, but it's still liable on their part that they lost their item. My dad's lost items before, I actually blamed him because he lost those items. I cannot blame another person for picking up stuff that he lost, because it's human-nature. Even if it's a dog-eat-dog world that we live in now, people have to realize that it's not a world full of rainbows, sunshine, and unicorns.
INB4someone twists this around and decides to derail this into a murder discussion.
I tend to think of this as a battle of wits, because it's similar to how students are also competing in terms of jobs. The smartest, or most willing to work the hardest, ends up doing better. But in this case, the one that is more careful of their belongings wins.
