Your whole life is but a grain of sand compared to the amount of years the universe has been in existence; and you'll most likely be forgotten by everyone within a few generations, unless you manage to do something that'd get your name noted in books. At best,the largest thing you'll ever really contribute to this world that will leave a lasting mark of your existence is your children, who may or may not leave behind anything more than you have when they've passed.

In other words, your existence is meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

That's pretty pessimistic.

I like to think in a smaller scheme, in which in one point of my life I'm affecting someone else's life in a way or another.
