Yes, but dropping 10mil per 2x session for a lot of people is rather pointless as other problems would offset and devalue/over-inflate the economy eventually. For most people that would mean also waiting days or weeks until sufficient funds could be established. The meso farming, account thefts, and scamming incidents would go skyrocketing with all probability just to supply people with the mesos to do 2x. If anything, it's more fuel for the hackers.
No, the Nexon Cash based 2x system and rep system were more tolerable for many people and have no economic impact in the long run. Unless you're either too lazy, too self-absorbed, or have lazy juniors getting rep isn't hard. Earning Nx isn't hard either. There are plenty of ways to buy or earn Nx including Paypal, Cards, and using MTS.
The problem is the same people who complained fall into these categories. I had no problems earning 2x using the MTS, it took a while yes, but I managed to do it. So that excuse is dead. Nexon gave us Paypal for people who can't buy Cash Cards. The only complaint was we can't use PayPal Nx for MTS. Big deal as buying Nx for the Cash Shop purpose was the only reason they complained originally. Another dead excuse.
So let's boil down the anti-2x argument:
1. I can't get 2x because I have no money. (answer) Learn to use MTS and learn about having patience. You can earn Nx without money easily if you have patience.
2. I can't get Nx for 2x because I live outside North America where cards aren't sold. (answer) You have access to Paypal and currency converters.
3. I can't get any juniors for rep. (answer) Learn to be more social and make friends, and learn to ask politely.
4. 2x isn't fair because I can't get anything for 2x. (answer) read excuses 1 ~ 3 with associated answers and maybe you can get 2x, and stop making excuses.
5. I die too much during 2x when I train. (answer) Go to a monster more suitable.
And once again 2x's usage within MapleStory is validated as fair... unless theirs another excuse someone wants to make.
