toss in the 12 mobs you hit (probably)
and you get 36+64/12 = 41.333333% damage
Hitting 9 mobs gets you close with 43.11111, but I think you may have indeed hit 12 mobs, but something else is affecting your damage.....
you'd need a multiplier of roughly x1.05 to bump up from 413,333-> your damage on your screen.
