Oh, you're 17? Heh. Then how you're feeling is normal. If you're my age, you start worrying, but uhhh, my life isn't too bad, so I can't really complain. Just focus on getting a permit first, then a license. Driving was not an option for me, I guess. I had to. My father wanted me to start driving because he was determined to get me to college and for me to eventually have a successful life, so I'm grateful that I learned how to drive and stuff at the right age range. Buy yourself a cheap and affordable car whenever you save up after working too.
You're 17, you don't have to work anyways. I started working when I was 18, because I needed the money to DRIVE to places. I don't think your parents are that different from mine, they'll lighten up a bit when you hit college years.

You make it sound like your situation is terrible to others. I would call that a godsend if I had the freedom to stay in my room all day and play vidya gaems and stuff. Of course, I used to be more like that in the past, I sacrificed KHOITIEM just to go out and socialize nowadays, but that's just me.

wat. inorite? lol@fat comment, I was kidding there. But uh, similar to what Spidey stated, you don't want to coil up and do nothing. Do something about it if you want to make a change. No point in not trying because you're under assumptions that your life will be like that all the time. I know I probably have no right to say anything like this online, because I seem like such a freak (which is partially true, but I enjoy socializing up to a certain extent with normalf`ags too).
Just get your brain out, and just go in there, and ask her out or some sh`it. Not going to hurt you. Even if you think your parents will somehow ruin it. You never know, bro.
