What you can do is set up a secured network. My dad did this at home and I have to have him set up my laptops/computers to be able to connect to our router, since only he can do it.
I don't know how it works since I'm not tech-saavy, but he set up some kind of a network where he has to approve of certain MAC Addresses from specific computers to be able to connect to our router, on top of his encrypted wireless securty keyphrase. Somehow, no matter what you do to try to connect, whether it's wireless or hardwired, you cannot connect without expressed permission from the administrator of the network.
