they both block damage, they can't both block damage at the same time
they don't "cancel each other out," that's complete BS
neither the attack or the guard ability from divine shield are canceled in anyway by having guardian.
I think divine shield still uses a hit counter if guardian blocks, but that doesn't mean guardian hurts you in any way...
