I was recently thinking of a smaller change that could aid those who do quests and bring the idea of "Market" back into play a bit.
I've been reminiscing quite a bit lately and I remembered the NPC shop system from what I believe was Runescape. Yes, outdated, and crappy game especially for people who remained non-member such as myself, but still. If I'm remembering this right, what they had were local NPC shops that would buy items at a supply/demand price rate, then resell them to other people who shopped at that spot. It also was not all inclusive in that each shop was it's own shop, meaning local items would often be very, very cheap.
My idea of implementing this into game would only have it applicable to potions and etc items including all the gems and whatnot. Need those horns from Orbis in Vic? Someone would sell them there for localized profit. Since the game's been steering towards the casual path, this would make questing far easier, and make profiting a known idea. It still doesn't quite cover getting to the point of godly scrolled equipment, but it would be enough for people to get by with so that those who don't like the drama of the FM can play through 4th job without needing it for basics like potions. In my opinion, that would be enough to remove the necessity of NX from the game since it would be more oriented towards godly and scrolled equipment rather than the everyday goods.
However, this would requite that NEXON create a price max & min which would vary based on distance of origin and stock for most of the items in the game.... which I don't see happening. Sure as hell beats the 7th day market though.
