For Venison as well as Cybuster:
I remember that my gf and her second boyfriend were the soppiest couple you could imagine. They celebrated weekly anniversaries even after they started celebrating monthly anniversaries, and I think they celebrated monthly anniversaries right up to their one-year. Whatever could they do for their one-year? Well, for their one-year anniversary, her then-boyfriend gave her 365 folded origami roses in a huge box, each one folded and dated from the "day they started going out." He was the sort of guy where I could almost believe he actually went and folded one every day. It was terribly romantic, and utterly, utterly unnecessary. (I mean, what is she going to do with them now?) For their second-year anniversary he gave her a large jar of (again) folded origami roses and then told her to pick out two. She did, and gave them to him. He wrote their names on them and put them back in the jar. "Now we are two in a million." Oh gosh, I cringe even to remember.
(My gf has since sworn off romance and now goes for men that treat her badly. What can I say.)
I personally would LOVE the hand-written letter, as long as it's from the heart. My then-boyfriend wrote me letters for various celebrations that I still have and look at and enjoy. If you're not that close yet, try something little and sweet that reminds you of her. It's meaningful to you, and you can be honest about your feelings without feeling trapped by what you think she expects of an anniversary gift.
That is disgustingly romantic. I wanted to puke just reading it lol. None of my boyfriends (2) remembered our anniversary. And when my 1st one did, it was 4 years after we broke up... lol.[/COLOR]
