The Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution requires that the Federal Government protect the States from foreign invaders, and the President is the Commander and Cheif of our armed forces. In short, it is his job to lead the military to fight the Mexican Drug Cartels that littlerally are controlling parts of the the State of Arizona.
Besides, why would it not be the responsibility of our Armies (lead by the president) to defend us against heavily armed foreign armies? American lives are being lost to Drug Cartels that are invading America because the federal government is being neglegent in their duties to protect the citizens of this country. While being negligent, federal government is busy sending Americans to their deaths over foreign wars that we dont belong in with proven false pretexts. Its a travesty.
