If they weren't bosses, then insta-kill attacks would be way too cheap against them. I believe they are bosses because in a video a Dual blader was unable to bounce them. If only the giant turtles were bosses, the 15% chance to insta-kill with final cut after chaos patch would be WAY too cheap.
