Maplestory2 is coming out in CBT this year(2011)

I doubt this is coming our way anytime soon.

First of all, this. It'll be a while.

I mentioned somewhere, I think one of the Evil Cygnus threads, you defeat BM (Black Mage, not Battle Mage or Bow Master or whatever) (possibly in the past), and the world changes, maybe after a while. Then I changed it to the change will be in MS2. Which is a viable theory. It would explain why they're making MS2 (Yes, yes, why rework MS, when you can create MS2, but it's stupid to create a whole new game just to balance it out.).

I mentioned somewhere else, you defeat the Black Mage and Maple World changes, possibly deleting all characters. However, they could leave Maplestory alone, so you can show off your level 200 characters, and MS 2 would take place after you defeat BM, with a happy place that gets screwed over by some new bad guy.
