Strange glowing rocks in the Dragon Forest.

I have been looking for an answer to the following question since forever. What does it mean when those rocks in Leafre begin to glow purple and in the shape of a dragon?

They stay like this for about a minute or two, then the glow fades away. Next time this happens I'll try and SS the fading
