[gMS]1 Month of Big Bang: Your thoughts/review now?

I love you.

The Big Bang advertised it self as many things that it wasnt. I think the best way to go over it is to look at the old Big Bang poll they had.

The first option was faster leveling, and it looked like they would give it to us based on the fact that the experience curve was reduced by about 80% at earlier levels and nearly 40% at later levels. Notmally this would mean 5x the speed at earlier levels and just under 2.5x speed at higher levels. Too bad they neglected to advertise that they nerfed the family system (2x>1.2x, and it only lasts 45min per day rather than 1.5 hours), removed 2x exp cards (2x>1x) and even halved the exp reward of most monsters (clearly this halves the speed). Just as a rough estimate for high levels, this would leave out rate at: 2.5x * 1.2x/2x / 2x / 2x = .375x or 2.667 times slower... not counting the decreased duration of the family buffs.
And I havent even gotten into the fact that bosses, something people commonly trained on, where nerfed. HH, BF, Royal Guard, etc. where all decent monsters to train on for exp before the big bang. Now they are worthless. We still have Anego and Kacchuu Musha, but they are rather difficult to find these days and still nerfed.

Now we have Job Skill Balancing. Which, whether it be intentional or a glitch, was a complete failure. For one, Evans and Arans were practically ignored in the rebalancing and they got the short end of the stick. Then we have the issues with mages. They are still bottom tier, attack slowly, and their mobbing abilities are all nerfed (CL is down to 3 targets, poison attacks are no longer garrenteed to reduce hp to about 1 and is useless in training thanks to the acc formula, etc. but Bishops did get a slight increase with AR attacking 3 targets), and to add insult to injury DoT is glitched and Elemental Weapons are nerfed.
Then we have the issues with resistance. Nexon knows these guys are broken and the instructors even insult other classes (the WH instructor Belle specifically calls other Archers pansies). You just know something is wrong when Nexon programs the instuctors to belittle other classes and explain how the resistance classes are better. First, the WH's seem to do everything a BM can do except they do it better. They are faster (up to 190% speed, have a FJ like skill and attack while moving), Stronger (slightly higher % per min and a better damage multiplier), and they even get a flashy ultimate. Asside from looks or loyalty to another archer class, there is no reason to be a BM anymore. For BaM's, they are basically like a new Aran, but its hard to say that they are broken untill you start factoring in weapons non-existant in KMS. When you factor in Elemental Staves Battle Mages get a 33% DPM bonus (and nexon said the 25%/10% elemental bonus was broken, those hypocritical pimentos), and if you just change the Slow 8 staff in Dusk's tables to a Fast 4 one (change nothing else) the Battle Mage will rival Warriors in DPM with the Warriors all using 1v1 skills and iirc the Battle Mage will be using a mobbing skill.
Speaking of Dusk's tables, his show Battle Mages rivaling Corsairs. If WH's are that powerful, then I wonder just how broken the Mechanic will be...

Efficient Leveling by Questing is next. Where many quests made more efficient? It looks like it, but are they efficient? Not at all. Its simply not worth your time to travel between town and other areas killing monsters and collecting drops for experience alone. You'll get far more exp just staying on one good map and killing. The only quests that are worthwhile are the ones that give you items (that are worth your time obviously) or ones that unlock new maps.

More Explorer Content.... Did you see anymore explorer content added?

Faster travel was also on that poll, and the big bang delivered a little on that promise but at the same time made some travel worse. Examples of shorter travel include most areas in victoria, the maps in El Nath, etc. However, travel between other areas has been legthened. You now have to travel between more maps to get from Ellinia to Leafre, Mushroom Castle and Florina Beach, etc. Still most maps are unaffected. Its just annoying that travel between victoria and leafre takes longer now.

More PQ varieties... they removed the Colleseum, LMPQ, and VPQ, and the only increase in variety was allowing KoC, Legends, and DB's into CWK PQ. I call Bullpomegranate on this point.

Decreased penalty for dying... did anyone notice a change here? I did not.

Then finally, there is the selectable game resolution. They actually kept this promise. Too bad many graphical glitches are occuring on many maps on this resolution.

Overall, I'd say the entire Big Bang was misrepresented, and many of us were more than disapointed over the entire thing.
