Thank you for the suggestion! While trying it, I finally noticed the different buttons at the bottom of the Equipment window. Using those, I was able to determine that the boots were on my #2 pet slot. I hadn't been able to see that before, so I thought they were gone.

Go me. Rolleyes

Anyway, problem solved!
