Try cleaning out the dust where the fan is in your laptop. That might help a bit too. I had some wierd lag as well, though not the same as yours. My FPS would randomly go from 60 - 70, down to 1 and i was unable to do anything. Turns out there was a bit of dust causing my laptop to overheat, once cleaned that out its worked fine again since.
