The only mage that should be jungling should be fiddlesticks, and even then there's much better picks.
But yes, lifesteal does help a lot. I rush wriggle's lantern on Shaco and the lifesteal lets me not have to constantly buy health pots.
Nah, that was just me dyking around at lower levels due to not knowing how to play.
