If you have a decent level speed infusion and buff just prior to it you can actually stand a slight distance from Bodyguard A and not take constant damage while holding down demolition's attack key. Bodyguard A (and B and The Boss too) will time their attacks so they go off just after your demolition starts, though Bodyguard A is the one with the least room for error. Generally when Super Transform buff begins to blink I use Demolition then while it's running tap the CSB key rapidly to rush into Bodyguard A and take his touch damage to buff. The negative of this would be that you wouldn't have the Pirate's Revenge buff up as much, but it's an option.
Edit: Though it seems you've caught onto it, in case someone else hasn't, to be able to use Demolition on him you have to have Bodyguard A in a corner, otherwise he'll eventually be knocked out of demolition's range, but you won't be out of his punch/ stun attack's range, and you'll wind up being knocked around for possibly several minutes, unable to do anything.
Edit Edit: One problem I noticed with the way you attack (I did it as well when I first started) is that he'll on occasion take bump damage from your energy charge, and wind up getting around behind you and you'll wind up being the one cornered and attacked.
