Being in jungle let's you do exactly your thing in the laning phase, farming and ganking.
When you lane against a team with a jungle rammus this happens to someone from your team: Rammus flash-balls you, slow you, taunt you, oops he had red buff so you're slowed, now you're dead.
And yea merc threads>ninja tabi.
And never underestimate an item like aegis of the legion, it's a great iems for rammus, early MR armor and hp, cheap, buffs your team too.
But ofcourse, never do what bad junglers do, forget to gang.
You should attempt to gang from level 3 and everytime you see the possibility, while focusing on farming also ofcourse.
