I've said it before and I'll say it again. In fact, I'll quote myself.
Yes, they could be working slow in our opinion, but are they really? I don't know but I think it's wrong to assume that they know everything about this game and can fix it as soon as we hope. The way i see it is that unless you know the DIRECT cause of it, and not just data/experiments pointing to one area, you can't fix the issue at hand. Yes, sometimes it works, but one example where it doesn't work too often is in Medicine. I know technology and medical issues are two totally different areas, but in a way they can relate when dealing with something you want to correct.
If anyone here watches House, they can see that "fixing" one problem brings up many more until they find out what's truly wrong. Same situation here, I believe (but with computers and not patients).
Maybe I'm just overly optimistic, but I have confidence that Nexon will fix this. Hell, a lot of high level players use the Cash Shop and it's them that bring in the majority of Nexon's income. I doubt they'll leave this broken for another month or two.
Since when did Nexon say they would fix Error 38 this maintenance?
I remember them saying it in a prior one, but as I said before, they found a place where it "could" have happened and possibly fixed it. But it wasn't the location of the real problem.

I doubt Nexon will have an emergency patch for this though. I mean, they still need to test and verify that this is valid. Along with what their agenda is for today (or tomorrow), this would be a side job. Plus, fixing it and seeing if it causes another glitch by doing so.
In other words, I wouldn't count on this being fixed before the next patch. Possibly by February though, if this checks out.

This Cash Shop maintenance was a prime example:
Community: Fix Error 38!
Nexon: We're having a Cash Shop maintenance and it might get repaired.
Community: About *&^%ing time!
Nexon: We added new items to the Cash Shop during maintenance.
Community: What about fixing Error 38?
Nexon: What's Error 38?
