I only chucked the items that I were able to move around into the storage. CS items seems to be accounted for. But yeah, I bought 4 items from the CS, then I unequiped 4 items from my character and placed them in the storage.
The magic number also seems different from everyone. I think it's due to the people that bought inventory expansions (probably depending how many slots expanded) which makes it variable a bit. I could be wrong.
