Grades

@ Harrison: Good show Harrison. Biochemical techniques as a freshman must have been difficult. Critical writing is often hit or miss depending on the professor teaching the course. Overall good job for the semester. I'm waiting for my horrible grades to appear in a couple of days. And trust me, they will be horrible. :mad laughter:

Biochemical techniques was my favorite class this quarter. Even though it was difficult because I haven't taken molecular biology and biochemistry, I was able to keep up because my professor is nice and taught so well. Also, my TA, a graduate student, made it his business to know us personally and helped us prepare for tests, even though it wasn't required. I was the only freshman in all four sections of the lab. My lab group had a fourth year and a fifth year, who gave me hell for being a freshman, and for being the only freshman. Apparently, it took people years to get into the class, and I got into it the first quarter. They're not bad people, but they liked to leech off of my work both inside and outside of the lab, since I bothered to do it. I kinda gave up at the end of the quarter after this one time, when I was doing everything, they told me to move aside halfway through the lab and took over.

Despite biochemical techniques being difficult, critical writing was actually the worst. The entire class was taught by a graduate student trying to get her Ph.D. in Literature, who didn't teach (or know at all what she was doing, for that matter). We had three papers. We weren't given clear instructions on how to write them, and for each paper, she gave at most 2 A's out of our 15 person class. Since I was below the average within the class, I ended up with a bad grade.

I honestly hope your grades aren't horrible. Within the context of Southperry, you're one of the most brilliant people. It would be unfortunate if your grades didn't reflect that. :/
