Grades

For everyone who got a D or an F in a course, I want you to think about two major reasons as to why you received low marks. I want you to then think how you feel about receiving a D or an F as honestly as possible and whether you believe that you are following on the right educational track. Then I want you to think of three realistic methods for you to increase your score in the future taking into consideration the ideas you thought of for the previous two comments.

I honestly don't care about the fact that you received bad scores. I have my own fair share that I've accepted on my transcript. Rather for me it is more important to see that you consider the results of the semester and plan accordingly while the iron is hot. It is not the results that make us human beings, it is the ability to adapt to the conditions presented before us on a daily basis. Wishful thinking is not sufficient to compensate for mistakes and deficits.

This. I KNOW that I'll be getting a D or an F in Intermediate Organic Chemistry (praying to God for a D so I don't have to retake it), and it's honestly my own damn fault. While my professor truly did suck, and no one went to lecture, and I was very limited on time in the middle of the semester thanks to working on the 2010 election, my lazy ass didn't work hard enough in the beginning of the semester, and so things snowballed to a point I couldn't get out of, no matter how hard I worked these past 7 weeks since November 3rd. Ultimately I've learned exactly what I need to do for next semester and those that follow to once again have a straight A semester (work > everything else. Spread out the work necessary in all courses, and make sure you get DONE what you actually plan to do. Even if it means sacrificing a party).
