Kill Stealing

The general rule for ksing is that if you're the first one in the map, the map's yours. However, exceptions should include people who either aren't using the map effectively or have alternative maps on which they can train but choose to train in a crowded map instead. Examples include people hitting only that one newtie at dangerous nest or F/Ps taking the bigger skelegon map to themselves. These are more extreme examples because high-levels really have no other training options. Also, for low-levels, if it's taking you 4-5 hits to kill a single hoodoo or voodoo, you probably really shouldn't be there, and someone more deserving of the map is justified to ks you out.

Bosses are different though. If you're actively killing a public boss, and someone walks in on you, he/she has no right to ks you. However, if you're standing in a map waiting for something to spawn and someone comes in, you don't have a right to claim ownership on something that hasn't spawned yet, such as area bosses, mushmom, etc. This isn't really much of a problem at manon, griffey, pianus, and other high-leveled spawning bosses because they can't be killed in 1-2 hits by 4th jobbers like the low-leveled bosses, and they take a while to spawn. Again, ksing is not justified while walking in on someone fighting a boss, no matter how dreadfully slow he/she is killing it.
