I really like your theory Sarah. You know, that meso part makes sense, that in Neo Tokyo, the coins named "Old Currency"are actually mesos.
None of the monsters drop mesos in there because mesos aren't the "future currency", and it became useless.
The only occasion you use those coins is to exchange them with Noran, a guy fascinated by the past and an old artifact collector.

What i'd expect from Chaos? Black Magician to get down from it's hideout and finally show up, instead of always sending his stupid slaves.
I also like a lot the concept of "Apocalypse". I think that it'd fit perfectly the idea for the "Last Boss".
