Okay, so like I said; it's a
MapleStory HackShield Update Error Code: 0x30000090(805306512)
![[Image: 0x30000090805306512.png]](http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/Warustar/0x30000090805306512.png)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everytime I attempt to start MapleStory from the GameLauncher or on the website; when it gets to the "Updating the HShield part.", the HShield Update picture shows and the update bar at the bottom right shows but it doesn't update. Only some of the bar is green then it goes away. When it goes away it gives me an error that says: HSUpdate has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
The Error looks like this:
![[Image: HSUpdatehasstoppedworking.png]](http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/Warustar/HSUpdatehasstoppedworking.png)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I click "Close Program". And for some reason it's still on my taskbar. Even though nothing is showing up in front of my face..
![[Image: MapleStoryintheTaskbar.png]](http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/Warustar/MapleStoryintheTaskbar.png)
But the funny thing is, it changes the Memory Usage which obviously means that something is going on.

So it kind of confuses me, and pisses me off at the same time; unfortunately.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Basic Overview Of Things I Have Tried:
Replacing the HShield folder with one that is already updated, and all of that stuff. (Several times. And I even restarted nearly everytime I did something so nothing would mess up. Too bad it did/Didn't work.)
Re-installing Windows. (Wasted time for nothing. Although I will admit that re-installing Windows was a really stupid idea.)
Running as Administrator.
Running in Compatibility mode with pretty much all the choices.
Running in Compatibility mode w/ Administrator.
Re-Downloading it.
Re-installing it.
Turning off Firewall, or Making the firewall allow everything in my folder for Nexon\MapleStory.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brief Overview of Computer:
Windows 7 Ultimate Edition (32-bit)
I don't have an antivirus because of my worry that it might affect MapleStory to run.
4GB Memory ( I used to have 16, but I don't use them until I re-install my production programs for art, and things, etc.)
Nvidia GeForce GT 220
Internet Connection: Ethernet
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, I have recently heard from doing some online research that a cure for this has SOMETHING to do with your hosts file in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc
Apparently you have to edit something in the file by running Notepad as administrator and opening the file. Except, I don't know what to do. I don't want to mess anything up, to be honest.
Also; I don't know if this is true but, I also heard online that there is already supposed to be some type of line in your host files that says 127.0.01 guard.nexon.net or SOMETHING like that. But I don't have that..
THIS, is how my HOSTS file looks like right now w/ MapleStory installed:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lastly, I am worried about whether or not I have the right programs installed for MapleStory? And I have some questions regarding this.
I have .NET Framework 4 installed, 2008 Redistributable, and latest Video Card drivers.
I don't know about DirectX. My video card which is Nvidia GeForce GT 220 says that it needs 10.1? I don't know/Can't find it at all online.
Does Direct X come with Windows 7?
Do you also have to have Java installed to play MapleStory?
Here are some pictures of how my Installed Programs look like:
![[Image: InstalledPrograms.png]](http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/Warustar/InstalledPrograms.png)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To wrap this all up, I am in need of some really big assistance, or maybe it's not big. Maybe I am missing something or need to add something to something that will easily fix everything.
I am seriously whining in front of your presence for some help. >:
If you can, I would extremely appreciate it.
I don't want to quit MapleStory because of some dumb error.
I am willing to reward someone if I can get it working.
I am in Windia.
