The silently crying girl continued to stare out the frozen third story window, directing her eyes to the street below.
Was she able to move, I wonder? Or is it that she refused to? She looked healthy enough from what I could see. I placed her at around my age, so the thought that she was sick enough to be out of school crossed my mind. Why else would she be out today?
Then again, I wasn't at school today either. Though that was for a different reason.
The world was about to change.
It was, perhaps, the voice in my head that damned me to this act.
"The world just keeps on moving", it said. "This broken world just keeps! On! Moving! Don't you think we could stop it if we tried? So why don't we, you and me?"
I had ignored it at first. But it kept coming back, again and again. The taste of power it brought was so delicious, bringing such rich, pure, undiluted euphoria to my mind, that I could do nothing but listen as it came to me last night. It gave me a simple task. A simple task that anyone could do. But...
