DO NOT USE POISON BREATH
You're supposed to cast Poison Mist every 40 seconds, and if you really want, Elemental Composition when it runs out if you can keep track of it. Elemental Composition has the nasty issue of being a % chance proc, so I wouldn't recommend spamming it until it procs, just use it once every ~14 Paralyzes if it lasts 10 seconds.
You need like level 3 Fire Demon and perfect timing for it to be better DPS casting it along with Paralyze so its DoT stacks correctly. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend using it until it has a 10 second timer. Even maxed Meteor should theoretically provide a boost in damage.
I have no idea what issues they may have fixed since GMST, but I recall there being one where casting the DoT before the current timer runs out would not refresh it; I don't believe this affected Fire Demon, but I did not use Fire Demon significantly.
The issue was as such: If you cast Poison Breath, it would poison a monster. This would last 5 seconds because the timer was glitched to never increase. If you hit the monster with another Poison Breath before five seconds had passed, it would not refresh the timer and would become unpoisoned after the first Poison Breath ran out, after which you can use Poison Breath to DoT it again. This had no effect on other skills.
I'll be back in a few minutes with calculations, but if you're not experiencing the DoT damage while spamming, then it is futile to attempt to DoT to DPS.
DoTs are horrible for KSing, by the way. They require time to deal damage. They're for DPS, not killing. Maxed Paralyze has effectively 320%/s DoT, but you require one second to pass for this damage to occur, which is one second more the other player has to kill your target. Consequently, when monsters live significantly longer, DoTs play a more central role into visible damage done. If there is indeed an issue with DoTs not working when you are spamming though, then F/Ps got the short end of the stick.
