Thats the problem with Events with no margin for error or leeway. There should be some buffer so people are able to get the items even if they cant make every single day. It is a poorly thought out and executed Event.
At least the rings are tradable. You may not be able to get any, but someone else might be able to get a dozen, and sell you one at an exorbitant price. Also, if you miss a day, you still get a useful ring, just a bit less powerful.
That's a lot better than something like the old Lunchbox event, where if you missed a day you got nothing at all, and if you got the lunchbox but had no use for it you could not give or sell it to someone who does.
They are slowly improving. They still want people to make an effort to log in every day and stay logged on for however long it takes, but they are better about providing "consolation prizes" and ways to obtain the prize for money if you completely missed it.
