I have to disagree that it would make mafia-hunting easier. I've seen a few games of "proper" mafia in which the same things that happened in this game happened. Mafia games are more about random chance even if they are played by the book perfectly, sometimes the mafia gets a break and they win, sometimes the town gets a break and wins, sometimes a neutral gets a break and wins. It's all random chance even if you're playing perfectly by the book.
