I disagree, voting no lynch on the first day is by and large the most hamful act the town can carry out. It wastes an important information gathering day on those who vote for someone, those who don't vote for someone, etc. All that information is crucial to begin picking apart the mafians. While I don't like rng killing, it's far better to have several random votes than voting no lynch or not voting at all. For a time I thought that choosing a random player on Day 1 was a bad idea, but having seen how often the 2nd day ends up in a rng kill anyway, starting on the 1st day to help get things started is necessary imo.
