Best video software?
#6
KajitiSouls Wrote:Took a look at Fraps, did several test runs with it on LoL, and it surprisingly works like a charm at 30 fps! (without recording, game runs at 60 fps during light to moderate actions) The quality of the videos are also fairly acceptable; better than live-streams, but probably worse than HD, not sure (1680x1050, just over 1 GB, 30 seconds). My hopes to make game videos is a lot closer.

However, I'm hoping to have several options when doing some production, and I would like to hear some opinions. I'm looking for screen capture software, and video editing software. What Fraps offers is acceptable, but one complaint I already have is whether it can record desktop actions.
You probably need to compress it after taking a capture. Also if you are really serious, and your computer and handle it, turn off your vsync and record at 60fps or something higher, this way you can slow your game down and get all the critical frames if say something spectacular happened and you want to play it back in slowmo.
