One question, Greg. Are we allowed to announce in here what song we are planning on singing?

I personally think it'd be more fun to keep it a secret until you actually post yourself singing it. You can do what you want, though.

If I join, are there penalties for me not being able to commit and actually sing?

Not sure if I can find time when I'm alone and can jam out.

If by that you mean singing very quietly and without EMOTION, then no there aren't any penalties. There are no penalties, other than not submitting a cover at all in which case you would be a loser.

However, it is no fun if you have to limit yourself because of other people around you. I know exactly how you're thinking, because I would never let my dad or sister catch me singing songs off of Sonic Adventure 2. I had to wait for them to leave!

Part of why I plan on letting this run along for a good two or three weeks is so people can find the time to actually sing, rather than whispering a song because their parents are in the other room. You can do it, bro.
