Are skill books not needed after big bang?

I like it, yet dislike it at the same time. All of those quests gave what? Several million exp? They were actually worth doing for something other than the skill itself. Was good for a different change of pace while it lasted. Hopefully there are still some quests that are worthwhile at those levels...
