For example when the guild hack situation happened nothing was done, probably because they don't keep backups of most things. They probably have no way to figure out who killed bigfoots and who didn't so used the easiest (most thoughtless) action they could do and banned according to how fast people leveled over the certain period of time bigfoot was "glitched". Thats my guess.

I sometimes wonder how much of a contingency plan they have in the event of an erratic electrical storm or disgruntled mapler bringing in an EMP...

Then again, the likelihood is so low... but still, they seem like the kind of people who would not even have backups of the server data in a remote facility despite the millions of dollars dependent on it.

Only reason I thought of this is because in many flaming threads, people claim they'll bomb the pineapple out of NEXON HQ, but that is just plain unlikely. I guess the same could be said of someone smart enough to build an illegal device actually playing maple, but at least there would be less hesitation for the aggravated individual assuming mild sanity remains.

Anyway, back on topic, if there is something I think I know about security and contingency plans, it is backup/logs; which NEXON seemingly has none of. In the coding projects I have participated in, I always have an output to make sure things are happening at all points in the program while making it. If something flubs up, the output I set points me in the right direction to fix it. Without things like logs to lookup, they are basically blind in the event of an emergency; which really shows. They should really start to learn to calculate Murphy's Law into things they do. I certainly have.
