No offence here, but calculating the damage theoretically will yield roughly the same relationship as an experiment will.
PI and Illusion will be subject to the same...conditions (for lack of a better word) if you carry out an experiment in the actual game. It's not going to change the relationship between the two.
If you really do insist on seeing it for yourself, go ahead. No one's stopping you.
