MrGen Wrote:I agree with you JoeTang, but I just don't think anyone is saying that it's obsolete. Rather, it's just one of those things that people could care less about doing it when attacking. I can only speak for myself, but I find it rather annoying to have to press up to activate Final Toss and follow-through with worrying about juggling them; when I could just spam attack without having to do anything fancy with arrow keys. And move on to the next mob of monsters.
I have no idea. I just find it really easy and simple to do, and I use it a lot because it lets me move forward a lot easier without worrying about unpinning monsters. When I attack, I generally jump forward after each Overswing so things don't get knocked out of my range, so it's really natural for me to Final Toss mobs. I almost never overkill too because I Double Swing first, and see if I need the Triple Swing to kill them or not. It actually doesn't take any longer.

All taken in 30 seconds:
Super snowboard + booster: 23.6666 OS, 18.75 OS + final toss -> 37866.56 %, 37020% (# OS * 1600% + # toss * 390%)
Arclglaive + no booster: 18.3333 OS, 15 OS + final toss -> 29338.28%, 29850%
Pure OS would grant faster combo charge but then with combo recharge, this may not be as important a factor anymore. Oh by the way, I was never an advocate for final blow, I think the skill is absolutely garbage, it obviously lowers your dps in all situation unless you count hitting things out of your normal range.
I think Fenrir/Judgement training after Big Bang would be the most effective route because you don't get such a massive boost in damage from having maxed out Critical Rate anymore. Especially since Fenrir does similar damage to what it is now, but only takes 50 Combo and is a second job skill and whatnot.
Also, I like repeating myself but: Illusion sucks so baaaaaaaaaaaad. Right now, Phantom Imprint is the premier DPS skill, which is really cool because it's only 10 points and it gives increased damage on monsters it hits anyways. 903.6%/s before Booster after you mark something, which is really high compared to every other skill they have. Blaze comes in at 716.7%/s, so its use would be great against something weak to Fire I suppose. Dragon Thrust is sick good though. Almost matches Illusion's crappy DPS, and almost guaranteed knock-back with that speed means you never get hit.
