This is the time that they do maintenance and updates. I'm not sure what you expected when you bought the card. I mean, clearly you're not from America and that is probably the best time for you to train, but maintenance in this period has been consistant for two years at least. Not really their issue. (Though they really need to put in place a program that automates extensions or disallows people from buying cards before a scheduled maintenance)
