Experience Charms aren't the Safety Charms.
Those charms are a newly added feature, that "captures" a monster and it's EXP to transform into a "EXP gachapon like item" by what i understood.

Safety charms are different from these. Experience Charms look like Undead Charms in their Icons.
EXP charm is this:
