Can you check the signal strength of the router? Log in to your router to see if there are any limitations on your wireless network as a result. And is it a secure connection? Wouldn't want leechers stealing your bandwidth.
I already use Malwarebytes, been using it for about a year now.
About my router, all I know is that it's secure and needs a password to gain access to it. My internet speed is about 50 Mbps.
