Also Smooth, you're right. I pretty much like seinen titles or ridiculous humor titles that move quickly. But humor itself is a tricky thing to place.

Alright, out of what I previously recommended, Solanin might be for you.

Also adding Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer/Hoshi no Samidare. It's a seinen with the story of a surreal shonen, but the author adds a certain realism to the fights in the series. If you've ever seen FLCL, there's a bit of tribute paid to it and The Pillows in this series; and the overall key theme of the series is what it means to be an adult and to grow up.

Any thoughts on Yakitate Japan? You mentioned "ridiculous" humor to be more your thing, this series works nicely.
