articles are actually a form of determiner. Determiners precede nouns in English grammar and in a grammatical analysis, if the determiner isn't present you generally have to say "no determiner" rather than leave it out. So actually articles are quite important and regular.

Red= prepositions. Remember, these come before pronouns/nouns and show the pronoun's/noun's relationship to another word in the sentence.
Blue=articles. There are two types of articles. 'a' 'an' which are indefinite articles, and 'the' which is definite.
Purple= nouns. Yes, they're everyday things. Nouns can be in a category of: common nouns, everyday things we see, etc. Collective nouns, a noun that represents a group, etc: a library of books. Verbal nouns: these come from verbs, (Doing words). Proper nouns= People, places, etc: Kate. And lastly, compound nouns, etc.: pencil case.
Verbs= doing words. They can be mental: I guessed the right number, I think, etc. And physical: I ran to the store.
Orange= conjunctions. These connect two clauses together.
Pink= adjectives. Since I saw one, I thought I'd bring it up. These describe nouns. Terrible headache, it is describing the headache. Beautiful girl, describing the girl.
Gray=indefinite pronoun. Sometimes is indefinite, it's not a definate thing. So therefore, indinite pronoun.
Brown/darkred= Personal pronoun. Basic.
Navy= possessive pronouns. MY head. It belongs to me.
Dark green= demonstrative pronoun. Usually, that, this. 'that is my car', it is demonstrating which car is mine.
Indigo= Negative linking verb. Sleep is a verb and can't is negative, thus negative linking verb.
